If you only have access to 2012, then you can either make a DWF from revit, or use the NWC exporter add-in for Revit to get the file to Navisworks. A revit file can have multiple site locations, in the case that you may link an identical building into a site with different locations. Navisworks 2013 reads RVT files natively, so all you need is access to either navisworks 2013 simulate or manage. Even exporting each link from the master doesn't always work!!Īs an aside does anyone know how multiple shared sites work in this regard? I had my eyes opened (AGAIN) to revit and its forward thinking functionality. Using Revits 'Shared coordinates' doesn't necessarily work which is particularly frustrating.
In the few cases where I have had to do this (usually a hard tender with only dwf's available for security reasons) the SAT seems to retain location data, so additional revit geometry will be located correctly when exported to have had some serious issues with locating models correctly and am at my wits end. If you are using the design suite premium (or ultimate) you can get your geometry back into revit, though it is a dirty hack.Įxport Navisworks to FBX, open in 3DS Max, export to SAT, import into Revit.
